In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, I wanted to let you know your Board of Directors and Club Management are taking the necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our members and staff and minimize the impact to our facilities and operations. We have recently updated our flu prevention and pandemic guidelines in direct response to the emergence of the Coronavirus. These guidelines are based on guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
These guidelines include common sense hygiene practices that are good to follow whether or not it is cold and flu season. Things like frequent and thorough hand washing, good coughing and sneezing etiquette, and avoiding contact with others when you’re sick. We are also increasing the frequency of our cleaning of hard surfaces beyond our normal routines, particularly points of common contact like doorknobs and light switches. Staff will also be wiping down and cleaning our equipment at the gym three times per day. We ask anyone that uses the gym facility to please wipe down each machine after each individual use.
Our staff are also being encouraged to stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms of fever, frequent cough, or shortness of breath. This is the best way we can help minimize the spread of the illness and to avoid any disruptions to Club operations. Please be patient over the next few weeks as this could impact service levels where we may be short staffed.
As for our members, I would encourage each of you to take good care of yourself by following the recommendations of your own doctors and government health authorities, and taking the necessary steps to protect yourself and your family during this flu season. Like our staff, we encourage you to stay home and take care of yourself and your family if you have been experiencing flu-like symptoms.
It’s amazing how fast the World can change in just a few short weeks and hopefully this will all be behind us just as quickly. No one can stop the spread of illness, but we are doing our best to keep our members and staff healthy. We appreciate our members doing the same for their fellow Club members and staff. Please feel free to call me if you have any concerns or questions.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Country Club of Paducah
