High Risk Swimming

Starting today, we are amending the swimming schedule at the pool. The 9am to 10am high risk swimming hour has been well attended and will continue. We are very happy to offer this for our members who are either in a high-risk situation or living with loved ones who are high risk.

However, we always want to be flexible when we notice a need that may be met.  At the 7pm hour we have a much higher demand for swimming by the broader membership.  Therefore, we will keep the pool for open swimming, until normal closing time at 8pm.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

The Pool Is Opening!

OK, so we can’t get you a beach, but The POOL IS OPENING!!!!
Important details below:

The pool is opening on Monday June 29th for regular recreational swimming.  We do still have several COVID-19 regulations from the state to follow, however the number of people allowed in the pool is large enough to rarely be an issue. On crowded days we will keep a count and may have to limit entrance to the pool to stay under 70 people.

You will notice extra cleaning throughout the day.  We do have spacing requirements of six feet between all tables and lounge chairs, just like in the dining room. Therefore, seating will be very limited this year. This will be a difficult rule, but the staff does not have the authority to change this.

We are also to ensure that, “people do not congregate in or around the premises” and that everyone, “properly wash their hands”.

Due to the cleaning requirements we will not have the showers in use this season at the pool.  The regulations also require the restrooms not be used for changing. Therefore, you will need to arrive and depart dressed for the pool.

The pool hours will be very similar to the past years. Regular swimming will be from 10am to 7pm. Swimming for people in high risk groups will be from 9am to 10am and from 7pm to 8pm.

The snack shack will have the same hours as before, 11am to 7pm. We will return the cooking of hot food to the snack shack and continue butlering by the pool. The butlering will be for food from the snack shack or drinks from the Sport Bar. Please note the Sports Bar will be closed on Monday’s.

Just like with other departments at the club, some rules are easier to work with than others. However, we are thrilled to be able to offer recreational swimming in the pool this year. It appeared for some time, that we would be prohibited.

Thank you for your patience.  We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!

Pool Closed

The pool will need to be closed tomorrow (Wednesday June 24th) and possibly Thursday for some maintenance.

We will let you know as soon at we are able to reopen for aquatic center rule swimming.

We are sorry for the inconvenience,

David

Pool Openings News

We have some news regarding the pool.  Our pool meets the rules published by the state of Kentucky to open and operate as an aquatic center. Therefore, we will be opening the pool under the Aquatic Center Rules beginning Thursday morning June 18th.

There are some strict limitations that we will need to follow. We may allow up to two swimmers at one time, swimming in separate lanes, with an empty lane between them.  According to the regulations all swim times must be reserved in advance.

Reservations will be in 30 minutes blocks and you may reserve up to an hour. Below are the rules that you will need to be aware of and includes the email address and my phone number for reserving your lane.

Our schedule for this week will be 9am till 8pm Thursday June 18th and Friday June 19th.  We will be open 10am till 6pm Saturday June 20th and Sunday June 21st.

We are very happy to be able to make this small step forward.

The regulations for expanded pool use, starting June 29th, has just been published! The limit on the number of people allowed in the pool at one time is larger than we expected. We will follow up with more news on June 29th later, but for now Aquatic Center rules starting tomorrow and recreational swimming starting June 29th!

Swimming Pool Update June 5, 2020

I wish I had better news, but we are still waiting for state approval to open the pool under the governor’s aquatic center rules.  We have the pool ready to go under the published rules.  However, the health department will not give us an inspection or allow us to open.

As soon as we have approval, we will open the pool.  We are still awaiting the publication of the expanded swimming rules for June 29th.

Thank you,
